Rock Gaming and Caesars Entertainment have set May 14th as the opening date for their $350 million Horseshoe Casino in Cleveland project. The casino will be the first of four voter-approved casinos to open in Ohio.
The three-story casino will open up in the former Higbee department store in the heart of the city. It will employ 1,600 people and open with 700 slot machines at street level. The second floor of the building will have 1,400 slots, 34 table games and a food court with three outlets. The top floor will have a VIP lounge and high-limit gaming tables.
Penn National Gaming plans to open the first of its two Ohio properties the Hollywood Casino in Toledo in late May, with the second one planned for later this year would be Hollywood Casino in Columbus. Another Caesars partnership with Rock Gaming will open Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati in 2013.
